Tutorial / TrickySliders the Universal Objects ...

TrickySliders

We are still talking about SliderBars ... and we like to get most out of them ...

Tutorial / SlickSliders the other Buttons ...

To do so, we first need to understand, what is a SliderBar? What is the real basic nature of a simple SliderBar?

   - it is indeed a visual Object
   - an Object which offers user interaction
   - an Object, which offers a defined feedback event
   - an Object, which offers a defined feedback out of a defined group of choices

Sounds easy ... but then ...

what is the difference to a button?

Honestly, nothing. You can use a SliderBar just as a simple Button with one choice

what is the difference to a dual state Button?

Again, nothing. You can use a SliderBar just as a simple Dualstate Button with two choices

But then, why do I have a SliderBar ... ?

   - With a SliderBar, you also have a TriState Button ...
   - With a SliderBar, you also have a MultiState Button ...
   - With a SliderBar, you can manage 200 Buttons at once ...
    - ...

A SliderBar per se is a very universal Object with many options.

   - it can react on press events
   - it can react on release events
   - it can react on move events

With this all

   - user defined respond range
   - user defined feedback
   - user defined outlooking

you can do very slick things, which indeed have nothing to do with the normal usage of a SliderBar ...

Honestly, when you think a bit out of the box, you will see that SliderBars are very amazing Objects ...

Stay tuned ...

say never never ... SliderBars the different ProgressBars ...

    - have you ever been in the need to use a few ProgressBar's over a non uniform background ...

    - did you miss a "crop Image" property of the native ProgressBar object ...

    - you don't like to cut out single graphics from a background manually ...

    - you are no friend of a 100% scaling object ...

so, why not just use a SliderBar for this purpose ...

    - a cropped Image property is available ...

    - free choosable range representation, no 100% object ...

    - add on one line of code, and nearly all done ...

    - and indeed reusable ...
