nextion editor error

hello

Gives this error when loading an HMI file

The index was out of range. It should be non-negative and smaller than the size of the collection.

Can someone help?

I have windows 10 64bit

Yep, the HMI file is either too old or has become corrupted.

But in the case the HMI file is too old, how can I upgrade it to the last Nextion Editor version without managing to open it?

Upload the HMI here using the Attach file - I will look at the file format to see what is happening

At the same time as your upload, please tell me where the HMI came from.

Hello Patrick,

For example, all HMI files that came with Arduino Library Examples have the same problem. I'm using Nextion Editor version 0.41

My display came from China (Aliexpress).

Attached some examples.

@Frederico

I took CompTimer.HMI and CompText.HMI, CompSlider.HMI Downloaded to the PC

Nextion Editor v0.41 - Open, selected the HMI

- Dialog states: Select hardware model to go on compiling - click OK

   Device and Display Settings appears

        - Selected my Series and Model from the list

        - Clicked Display - Selected the rotation and iso-8859 desired - Click OK

Click Save

- Dialog states: Current file is created by old version.  Nextion Editor will save a copy to backup directory and convert it to new format.  Click OK.

Click Compile

Click Upload (CompTimer.HMI and CompText.HMI uploaded, reset and ran fine)

CompSlider.HMI (did all steps except Click Upload)

Under File Menu, Selected Open build folder

Copied CompSlider.tft to empty microSD card (Kingston 32GB HC Class10 microSD)

Powered off Nextion

inserted microSD card

Powered Nextion on - tft uploads

Powered off Nextion

removed microSD card

Powered Nextion back on (CompSlider.HMI ran fine)

Repeated microSD steps with CompGauge.HMI, it to ran fine.

So can you explain further,

as the four HMIs I tested never gave the error that the index was out of range

Patrick,

Please try out with these other attached files.

The error appear just after this last "click OK"

Which Error ... please type in what error is being displayed to you

Fishtank480272-1, Fishtank480272-2, and 240x320Example have been made with

Nextion Editor version 0.21 -- ouch, seriously ouch !!

So many things have been implemented since then. So to have a hope of loading

these - maybe you would need version v0.38 or before.

Comp******* examples are already version 0.28 and still converted by the Editor.

But it should be with recent versions

does not make sense

But where can I download the old versions?

Patrick,

Thanks for your time trying to help me. Is there a way (for us) to know in which version a HMI file was created?

Where could I download previous versions of Nextion Editor?

@Vitor

Your thread is reporting an Index error.

I need to look at the HMI that is causing you issues - may not be the same issue.

Please upload the HMI causing you issues.

I do not believe Frederico Abreu Mendes issues are the exact same as yours

Patrick,

Yes. my issue is the same as Victor's one.
